Karlsby, officially the City of Karlsby (Azmaran: Sted âb Karlsby), is an Azmaran cathedral city located on the banks of the river Ajsen, approximately 105 kilometres east-northeast of Aalmsted and 70 kilometres west-northwest of the port city of Heuthenberg. With a population of 102,377 within the city limits and a broader population of 172,384 within the Fief of Grooter-Karlsby, the city is the largest settlement within the province of Haadland of which it serves as the administrative centre.

Governance

As with other Azmaran municipalities, Karlsby is governed by a directly-elected Mayor and a City Council elected under proportional representation.

Mayor

The current Mayor of Karlsby is Krystiina Maartensdohter of the Green Party, who first elected in 2019. She was re-elected in 2023, winning a significant plurality in the first round on the 11 May and beating Karl Johanssun of the Workers' Party by a 23% margin in the second round on the 25th.
