The Liberal Socialist Party, also known as LSP, is one of the two major political parties in the United Socialist States; the other is its rival, the Conservative Socialist Party.
The LSP was founded in 1888 after the dissolution of the Democratic-Republican Party due to the shift towards a more socialist agenda. The party supports liberalism, a progressive tax system, gun control, social democracy, and equality for all.
There have been 11 Liberal Socialist presidents since its inception, including current president Lona Freeman. As of 2019, the LSP controls a minority (7) of state governorships and 7 state trifectas (governorship and both legislative chambers). There are five sitting Liberal Socialist justices on the Supreme Court.
