The Lira-class destroyer was a class of Destroyers built by the Republic of Syara in the 1930s. Fast and heavily armed, they were intended to ask as fleet and convoy escorts, raiders, and scouts. As such were designed to be highly operable and reliable even in difficult waters, capable of maintaining 34 knots during poor conditions. With their heavy armament, the Lira-class was a match for some light cruisers and would often employed as such. A total of 70 were ordered by the Navy of the Syaran Republic, but only 50 were ultimately produced. They saw extensive service in the Siduri War, where 37 were lost in action. The class remained in service following the end of the war before being decommissioned in 1946.
