Rosspörsmålet or "the question of the rose" is an issue that rather early caused a split in the holy chronological faith about the nature of Rasmer the king of the gods and the god of kings. According to the holy chronicles were Rasmer born when the wise rose was burned by it's enemies and from the ashes did Rasmer rise. The debate that have plagued the holy chronologically is however if Rasmer is the same being as the rose or the rose itself born anew. This was formulated in the question "Was Rasmer born from the rose? Did Rasmer come from the rose? or is Rasmer the rose reborn?

The stance that Rasmer is the rose itself is a belief followed by people that calls themselves "återfödelse" or "rebirth" from the Imerian name for rebirth and they are faced by two very different standpoints that "nyfödelse" or "new birth" that holds the idea that Rasmer was a being separate from the rose and born out of it's death. Both of those viewpoints are considered heretical by the holy chronologically itself and all the four main sects follows a formula known as Andrafödelse that says that while Rasmer and the rose were two beings but were mixed in essence. This means that not only did Rasmer suffer the flames and were born out of them but he were also not reborn from the dead which is horrid according to chronological doctrine. So the mainstream chronological theologies says that Rasmer come from the rose but was not born from it nor it reborn!

History

The debate was the largest during the unification of Imeriata around year 0 of our kingdom where various provinces either adhered to one of the three doctrines but since at the time kings were responsible to appoint their own high clerics so were the issue very hard to solve as whole kingdoms openly defied any attempts at reconciliation and stubbornly stuck to their own creeds. This makes the unification of Imeriata a large religious issue as well as a secular unification as Emanuel the first as the first high king were then able to appoint a high cleric of all of Imeriata that followed the andrafödelse doctrine laid out by the arch cleric in the city of the burning rose. With the power unified so were the issue at least solved in Imeriata but Erathia did have issues for centuries and it was first after the unification that the last remnants of people that followed återfödelse creed were finally brought under the creed of the arch cleric once more.

However during Vedian so were the issue not resolved in the same way as the high kings of Vedians were very sympathetic to the nyfödelse creed and they were stubbornly continuing their doctrine until the Imerian conquest and annexation of Vedian in 987. During the religious troubles between the new heresies of Björkism and EinIld in the 13th century so were Erathia as torn assunder between the religious creeds, however EinIld did not make it's way into the far west as Björkism did, instead did the old ways of återfödelse have a new revival or a rebirth in the country and religious armies took up arms against the established orthodox Gudaföljare sect but also against the new Björkists heretics.

However at the end of the war did återfödelse die down more and it was officially suppressed after the two hundred years war and it lost the prestige it had once had. Today does however this version of the faith live on in the south western coast where some temples still stubbornly hang on to their own ways as well as some colonies in Vinland were made by Återfödelse sect men and even today can a few of those still be found there that stubbornly reads from versions of the holy chronicles that says that Rasmer were reborn and is one and the same as the rose in spirit and body. Nyfödelse however is currently dead and no Vedian temples professes this version of the faith.
