The Socialist Party of Tarper, abbreviated as SP, is a democratic socialist political party in Tarper. It is one of the largest parties in Tarperti politics. The party's foundation occurred in 2016 with the merger of the three existing socialist parties, the Socialist Unity, Labour, and Social Democratic Parties. The party was created as part of the Chancellor's "One big party" plan.

The leader of the SP, Maximilian Herzog, is the current Chancellor of Tarper. It is an observing member of the Socialist International and a full member of the Progressive Alliance.

  • Socialist Unity Party (SU): A democratic socialist and eco-socialist faction, currently the mainstream of the party.
  • Labour Party (LP): Marxist faction of the SP. Currently maintains a strong and close relationship with the labour unions.
    • The Proletariat: Newspaper of the Labour Party. Published every six months and details Labour's role within the Socialist Party.
  • Social Democratic Party (SDPT): Faction made up of leftist and classical social democrats. Rejects the third way and other forms of moderate social democracy. Tasked with coalition making.
    • New Age Foundation: The think tank of the social democratic faction. Has tasked itself with reviewing mainstream policy, works in tandem with the Herzog-Tapia Theorist Bureau.
    • The Modern Socialist: Monthly paper of the social democrats detailing the goings on within the faction.
  • Green Socialist Left (GSL): Group born out of the merger of the New Socialists and Democratic Socialists of Tarper. The faction promotes eco-socialism, market socialism, and strict scientific socialism.

Sub-organizations of the SP:

  • Young Socialists of Tarper (YST): Youth organization of the party, normally used as a stepping stone by some before gaining membership into the party proper. Organizes non-collegiate chapters for Tarps ages 16-25.
  • Women in Socialism: Women's organization and within the party. Promotes feminist policy within the party and Tarper.
  • LGBT in the SP: LGBT+ foundation that reviews and promotes LGBT+ friendly legislation and policy.

Affiliate Organizations of the SP:

  • Tarperti Confederation of Labour (TCL): Federation of trade unions in Tarper. All affiliated trade unions are also affiliated with the party. Originally disaffiliated with the Socialist Unity Party after the Labour Party schism.
  • The Terraum Journal: Originally a liberal leaning newspaper, the Journal started endorsing socialist candidates after the start of the Tarperti pro-democracy protests. The Federal Assembly bestowed it the honor of "National Newspaper" in 2016.
  • Student Socialists: Main federation of collegiate socialist groups. Usually takes participates alongside the Young Socialists.
  • Iron Front (Info): Full name is the "Tarperti Iron Front for the Victory of the Republic against the Fascist Menace". Breakaway group of the Young Socialists that reformed into a paramilitary group, claims to be the successor of the Socialist Unity Party's Tarperti Underground. The group claims affiliation to the Socialist Party, the party itself does not recognize the paramilitary group and has refused to comment in its alleged affiliation.
