Soupatia (pronounced so-pay-tee-ah) is the capital and largest city of Iobaray with a population of 1.08 million people. It is located in the east coast of the country on Elborra Bay, granting it access to the Samson Ocean. It is the largest and busiest commercial port in Iobaray and the largest in southwest Adula outside of Elborra. The city consists of seven administrative divisions, which are each subdivided into quarters or bairros. Soupatia is a cosmopolitan city, with Yoruba and other native Iobarayan languages being more common, Quetanan, and, to a lesser extent, Islamic and Ausianan languages and cultures present. The city has a vibrant cultural scene, with many restaurants, music and performance venues, and local film industry. Soupatia's economy is centred around its port, through which the majority of Iobaray's imports and exports are shipped. The chief exports include cotton, sugar, chromite, sisal, copra, and hardwood. In addition to trade, the city has robust manufacturing and service sectors.
