Title: "Love Bytes" Genre: Romance/Sci-Fi Plot: In a near-future world, a software developer creates an AI program that matches people based on their personalities and preferences. However, as she uses her own creation, she questions if love can truly be quantified by algorithms.

Love Bytes (SoravianБайт кохання|Bayt kokhannya)is a science-fiction romantic {[wp|Drama (film and television)|drama}} directed and written by Anastasiya Botosova. The film follows Alexandra (Myroslava Telon) a brilliant mathematician and Computer Engineer, who designs an advanced Artificial intelligence program that can predict the viability of any romantic relationship with a 99% accuracy, and follows the struggles of Alexandra to make a relationship that was deemed unviable by the program with Vladimir (Markiyan Kutsok). The film also features Dominika Kharatin and Alona Bashtovyi

Botosova conceived the idea for the film in 2019, due to her experiences utilizing dating apps, and the advanced algorithms used in those apps. Filming began in February 2023 in Orlavo.

Plot

Alexandra is a 27 year old mathematician and software developer in Orlavo, who specializes on artificial intelligence, and works for a large dating app company. However the company is bought by a large tech corporation and fires Alexandra. Her best friend Eliza (Dominika Kharatin) who struggles in finding a long-term relationship, jokes to Alexandra that she create an app to measure the viability of a relationship, to save her the troubles of months of dating. Alexandra who is herself unsure of her relationship with long-time boyfriend Yurij (Zlavko Suchy), agrees to make the app.

Alexandra utilizing her experience and data from her previous job, constructs an app named "Love Bytes". To test the program out, Alexandra invites Eliza and one of her friends Olga Alona Bashtovyi who is 56 years old. Eliza tries the program first, asking if her recent relationship will turn out to be long-term, and after answering several questions, the program responds that, no the relationship will not be viable. Eliza promptly ends the relationship, while Olga receives a similar no answer. Olga refuses to abandon her husband, but within two days discovers her husband to be cheating. Alexandra tests the program and is given a similar no answer. The next morning, Yurij promptly ends the relationship. Eliza who is elated to discover her previous relationship was a with a womanizer, shares the app with other friends, who quickly share it around.

The app becomes incredibly popular, and with more data more accurate. Alexandra becomes overnight a celebrity traveling around the world. Couples share both success and failure stories online, which only further cement the Precognition abilities of the app, Alexandra promptly creates a dating app feature which pairs partners perfectly with one another. Leading to even further use. Eliza and Olga both promptly meet their perfect partners after using the app, while Alexandra struggles with using her own creation to find love.

After being followed by Paparazzis, Alexandra has an anxiety attack, which leads to her secluding in her house for several days. Following the society shake that Love Bytes has created in the world alternative "non-algorithm" dating apps have been created. Alexandra curious about the program enters it, and is paired with a variety of users for short 5 minute conversations. After days of little to no interest, Alexandra meets Vladimir (Markiyan Kutsok) a firefighter in North Orlavo. After they both hold a long conversation regarding their dislike for Love Bytes, they promptly mark each other to continue talking, and maintain the conversation although neither share any pictures.

After several weeks of conversing, Alexandra develops a crush on Vladimir, who he sees as a prospective partner. She decides to run a test on Love Bytes regarding her relationship. Alexandra is dismayed to learn that Vladimir is marked as a terrible option for a partner. She instinctively begins cutting contact with Vladimir as a result. Vladimir who does not want the friendship to end, suggests they both meet up. Alexandra agrees and meets with Vladimir, who is shocked to discover he's been talking to such a famous person, and the creator of Love Bytes. Vladimir who suffered a major burn while working as a firefighter rescuing a family, does not believe that love can be quantified by computers. Alexandra who does not believe it possible for Love Bytes to be incorrect rejects Vladimir, who promptly reveals that he took several Love Bytes tests regarding Alexandra, and the program deemed the relationship viable all the time. Alexandra who was not aware that the program could make such a mistake informs Vladimir, that the app is right 99% of the time. Vladimir suggests to Alexandra that they must attempt all possibilities, to which Alexandra agrees several days later.

The movie moves fast forward several months into the future, as Vladimir and Alexandra maintain a relationship. Alexandra is sued by her previous company for using their data, and code, which results in Alexandra deciding to shut down Love Bytes, suggesting to all the app followers, to live life, rather than have the app live it for them.
