Vitus of Staalmark is an Allamunnic royal. He is the heir to King Rodrik IV of Staalmark, and the throne of the Kingdom of Staalmark. He is also the current Allamunnic Ambassador to Ghant.
Characteristics & Description
Vitus is a tall, well-built young man, standing at 194 cm (6'4"), with a muscular, athletic build. He is blue-eyed and black of hair, and is noted for his strong, square jaw and handsome features. He has an air of charisma, although his is not an especially forceful personality.
He is cited by peers and family as having a gregarious personality, with some hedonistic tendencies, tempered by an appreciation for the responsibilities of his post and standing as the heir to the Staalmarker throne.
Early Life
Vitus was born in Rikardsburg, in the state of Staalmark, to the then-Crown Prince Rodrik of Staalmark and his wife, Jana Fahlstryk. Vitus was the couple's first child (although by no means their last), and became heir apparent to Crown Prince Rodrik.
His early schooling occurred in Rikardsburg, part of a small class of the children of the Staalmarker elite tutored by private instructors. At the age of 13, Vitus, along with most of his peers, was sent to the Vylfhuld Academy in Obyrwaald, a private boarding school for the Allamunnic upper class.
Secondary Education
In May of 2004, Vitus' paternal grandfather, King Walder X of Staalmark passed away at the age of 61. With his passing, Vitus' father, Crown Prince Rodrik, became the King of Staalmark, ascending the throne as King Rodrik IV, with Vitus becoming the new Crown Prince of Staalmark. After attending his grandfather's funeral and father's coronation, Vitus returned to his schooling.
During this time, Vitus' teachers reported a renewed focus and seriousness in his attention to his studies; where before Vitus had been an unremarkable student, now, the Sproek Prince's grades were in the upper echelons in his class (although he was still not the most gifted pupil even in his own year). It was clear, however, that Vitus' studies were not his only focus. The Crown Prince also played for the Academy's gridiron football team, playing the linebacker position and proving to be a star on the gridiron.
The Crown Prince was also noteworthy during his teenaged years for a level of charm and charisma that manifested around the time of his elevation to the position of Crown Prince. As a confident, handsome, athletic young man, he was somewhat well-known at the Vylfhuld Academy for his amatory exploits, and during this time reportedly bedded a substantial number of his female peers.
Vitus graduated from the Vylfhuld Academy in 2008, ranked 12th in his class of 88 people, with a place assured him at the Royal University of Staalburg.
Higher Education
Starting in the fall of 2008, Vitus began attending the University of Staalburg in Rikardsburg, studying History, International Relations, and Public Administration. He was given a residence near the University's campus, paid for by the royal family, to help provide adequate security for the heir to the Staalmarker throne.
Driven by his father's wishes and his feeling of duty to be a well-prepared heir, his focus on his studies remained strong, if not as tight as in his primary and secondary education. Still, Vitus graduated in with a triple-major in five years, never failed a class (or received a grade lower than a "C", or "Average"). By spring of 2013, he had completed his undergraduate education, and had resumed his place with his family.
During his time at the University, Vitus began a long-term romantic relationship with Lyna Jormunt, a member of the powerful House of Jormunt, a fellow Vylfhuld Academy alumnus, and childhood friend. The couple began dating in November of 2008, and the relationship lasted throughout their collegiate education, prompting speculation that the two might wed upon graduation.
Crown Prince of Staalmark
In April of 2013, Vitus ended his relationship with Lyna Jormunt, just prior to their graduation from the Royal University of Staalburg. Vitus resumed his residency with his family, and was soon accompanying his father in the administration and dispensation of the duties of the Staalmark state executive, frequently serving as the House of Sproek's public face at charitable and public events.
It is widely believed that at this point, Vitus's recreational use of marijuana increased as a result of his reduced workload, and his activities outside of the executive office became fodder for tabloids, as he dated a succession of women (almost invariably actresses or models) over the course of 2013.
In 2014 at a Ball, Vitus met Arietta of Ghant. The two allegedly spent the night together, at their first meeting, and they began courting shortly afterward. Vitus proposed marriage to the Ghantish Princess Imperial at the 2015 Midsummer Ball, and the couple wed the following June.
Ambassador to Ghant
In January of 2017, following the resignation of Junn Andrsunn from the position of Ambassador to Ghant, Vitus was nominated to fill the post vacated by the now-Vice President of the Federation. On January 24th, 2017, he was confirmed by the Senate to take up ambassadorial duties to the court of Nathan IV of Ghant.
