The Washun Corporation is a Yinese multinational corporation that designs, manufactures and sells airplanes, rotorcraft, and missiles worldwide. Washun is among the largest aerospace manufacturers in the world. It is also the second largest defense contractor in Yingok based on revenue in 2020. In addition to its aerospace and defense activities, Washun also has interests in renewable energy. The company has been a pioneer in the development of sustainable aviation technologies, including electric and hybrid-electric propulsion systems for aircrafts.
Washun was founded in 1957 by Lai Sanhing and started as a small aircraft manufacturer in Yingok. Since then, the company has grown to become one of the largest aerospace and defense contractors in the world. Washun's products range from commercial airliners to military aircrafts and missiles. The company has a strong international presence, with operations and customers in more than X countries. Washun has been at the forefront of many major developments in military technology for Yingok. In 1974, the company developed their first jet fighter for the Fourth Republican Army during the Yinese Civil War, the K-1, and later went on to produce the K-3B, a fourth-generation fighter that is widely used by the Yinese Air Force in the present day.
The company's corporate headquarters is located in Samlong, Sokhoy. As of 2024, the company is organised into three primary divisions: Washun Commercial Aircrafts, Washun Security & Defence and Washun Services. In 2021, Washun recorded $97.32 billion in sales, the highest in Washun's history. Despite its success, Washun has also faced criticism over its business practices. In 1998, the company was fined $42 million by the Yinese government for violating export control laws. The company was found to have sold military aircraft components to countries that were under a Yinese arms embargo. Washun has since implemented new compliance measures to prevent similar violations in the future.
