Wolfgang Kanther (born (1976-07-22)22 July 1976, aged 44) is a Weranian politician who is the incumbent Minister of Finance. He has been a member of the Volkstag since 2007 and currently represents the seat of Innsheim-Ost for the National Consolidation Party.

Kanthar was born to a wealthy family in the city of Innsheim, with his father Augustus Kanthar having served as Minister-President of Elbenweis in the 1990's. After studying at the Imperial Academy of Weisstadt Kanthar worked at a financial services agency in his twenties before being elected to the Volkstag at the 2007 federal election at the age of 31 as the baby of the house. Kanthar became popular in the liberal conservative wing of the NKP and was promoted a junior minister for the Ministry of Finance in the government of Dietrich Wittmann (2009-2011) overseeing financial regulation, considered to be a meteoric rise. Following the 2011 election Kanthar vocally supported the leadership campaign of former Finance Minister Roland Kaulbach who ultimately lost the contest to Günter Schaefer.

Following the 2019 election Kanthar was appointed as Otto von Hößlin as Minister of Finance. Since coming to office Kanthar has implemented large scale tax cuts and has sought to privatise government-held industry. Kanthar has however been unsuccessful is his self-stated goal of reducing government spending and debt which has increased under his tenure.
