Xiangmen (Minjianese: 香门 Namorese: Сонгмон tr. Songmon) is a prefecture-level city in the Autonomous Republic of Minjian. The entire division has a population of 7.5 million people, of which 4 million live in Xiangmen City Proper (colloquially known as Xiangmen).

The city proper is the capital of Minjian, being home to the Minjianese Regional Assembly and the residence of the President of Minjian.

Xiangmen is the southernmost prefecture in Namor, with Baodao Island being the southernmost point of the country.

Name

The name Xiangmen is Minjianese for "fragrant gate" or "incense gate." The name emerged sometime during the 15th century, when large amounts of incense started to be imported into Minjian through the port city. Visitors to the port city were allured by the pervasive smell of fragrant incense. Eventually, the port became associated with the fragrance of incense, hence the name Xiangmen.
