Citizenship
The Constitutional Republic of One Nicholas is a very large and efficient nation. It is located on the Southeast coast of Europe. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic, devout population of 200 million Dabedabas are known throughout the region for their efficiency and work ethic, as well as their general suspicion of leisure. If you are coming from another country and want to get your citizenship you have to be able to swim in a shark cage with sharks all around you for 15 minutes. Also, if you are born in the country you have to do the same thing when you turn 16. If you don't pass you get sent out to sea on a raft all by yourself. This goes to show you that One Nicholas' national animal is the Shark. Once you do this you can vote, work, become part of the government and own a business. If you pass your shark cage test you will have the right to vote, work, own a business, and become part of the government. When you turn 65 you are given 2 million dollars to buy a new home or do whatever you want with it.It is expected that you go to school until your 20 years of age or you will be sent in a raft alone in the middle of the ocean. You also have to believe in christianity to enter the country. Once you surpass 20 years of age you can do anything you want as long as you follow the rules and regulations.
Geography
It is located on the Southeast coast of Europe. It also has the Mediterranean Sea next to it. This means there are many fishermen and divers. This supplies food for the people of One Nicholas and excellent trading resources to trade with other nations. It is pretty hot in the summer while the winters have moderate snow. There are also some decent sized mountains on the east.
Economy
The relatively small government juggles the competing demands of Industry, Law & Order, and Defense. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 13.3%. The powerhouse the One Nicholas economy, worth 16.1 trillion bitcoins a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Uranium Mining, Car Retail, and Fishing Rod Exports. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 81,887 bitcoins, with the richest citizens earning 5.5 times as much as the poorest. One Nicholas is Trading Partners with Bananenboot, Allies with West Won, and Military Rivals with Sentinels. One Nicholas trades it Uranium and Fishing Rods for Bananenboot's gold and bananas. One Nicholas is allied with West Won because if anyone tries to conquer them, they form a super military that is unstoppable. Lastly, One Nicholas is Military Rivals with Sentinels because they have taken uranium from them and have formed a super nuclear bomb that can destroy any country.
Responsibilities and Laws
Factories grind to a halt every time there is an election, frequent broken zippers have resulted in safety pins making a fashion comeback, there are six more weeks of winter if a northerner sees her shadow, and beaches are empty as the shark population multiplies exponentially. Crime is moderate, possibly because it is difficult to make it through a day without breaking one of the country's many regulations. There are many laws in One Nicholas, to the extent that people are saying there are way to many. To begin with, one law is that you have eat at the restaurant Takos once a week or you will be fined. An example of a responsibility is that you should try your hardest to get a new One Nico certified car every year.
Military
The One Nicholas Military is the 4th strongest in the world. Even though the population is not skyrocketing, 30% of adults have either been in the military or are currently serving in it. Once in a while the count of soldiers will get a little low so they have a draft.If the military soldier count gets below 50,000 a draft will be held of any male over 16 until the number of soldiers has reached at least 100,000. If this number does not get reached in the matter of 2 months, the government will be going house to house recruiting soldiers. The same goes for times of war but you have to be over 5 foot 10 inches to join. Once it is reached you have to stay in the military for at least a year.
