The scene of the bomb at Lorence's Vlut Station

The 1981 Lorence attacks (Vyvlander: Lohreconvohl, pronounced /loːɾətsonvɒl/) were a series of bombings which took place in Lorence, then South Vyvland, on the morning of the 23rd of August, at the busy Vlut station, the seat of the Vyvlander Parliament at Laanfenghaas, and the Ministry of Communications headquarters on Friendzepweg in Overlohrec. The three bombings happened at 8:46, 8:51 and 9:02 respectively. A fourth bomb was supposed to go off at the National Palace, but it failed to detonate. The fourth bomb was only discovered during renovations of the palace more than four years later.

The perpetrators of the attacks were all part of the Iglesian terrorist organisation Revolution 68, and were convicted of multiple counts of murder by the High Court of Vyvland in July 1983, after having been detained prior to this. Estimates say that over 30 people died during the attacks and an additional 114 people were injured. The attacks happened during the beginning of the fall of the South Vyvlander regime, characterised by the instability felt in the country before reunification of the two Vyvlands in 1983, but after Erman Sanker's death in 1980. They proved to be something of a 'nail in the coffin' of the Southern regime, whose leader, Ans Eloim, lost almost all credibility in the attacks' aftermath.
