General election was held in the United Pacific States on November 1st, 1991. Harry Robinson has been elected as the President, and the Democratic Party won the parliamentary election. Seven parties participatwd on this election, with one debuting party, The Voice of the Natives. In the presidential election, which follow a direct, simple majority system, Anders Marshall, the Governor of California were running against Harry Robinson a former General that served from 1955-1981. The legislative election will elect 500 people to the congress, 50 people to the senate, and 875 people to the regional congress.

Election Process

In order to run for presidency, a candidate must receive support from political parties totaling 25 percent of the seats in the Congress. Candidates must win 50%+ of the total popular votes, and minimum 20% support on every single state result. If no candidates can do so, then the election is repeated with two candidates with the most popular votes.

Background

A huge debate has occurred across the nation about the United Pacific's military budget, and the neutrality of the United Pacific. Major political parties such as Democratic and Republican usually agrees on building up the military, but both are on the different side when it comes to the topic of neutrality. The Democratic supports the neutral stance of the United Pacific, and The Republican opposes it. Smaller pacifist parties such as the Pacific Labor and Voice of the Natives are opposing the high Pacifican military budget. Pacific Labor believes that the UP should promote peace and stability through diplomacy only.

The presence of native people also showing up on this election. Voice of the Natives, a new political party that is made of native Hawaiian and native American politician is aiming to represent the native people's voice. Hawaii National Party, despite having low popularity in the Federal level, actually has a growing popularity in Hawaii.
