The 2020 Central Shaneville presidential election was held on Friday 13 November 2020.
The election ended in a hung parliament situation meaning John Poseidon kept his position as President until the re-election (which was decided by Parliament after the official election ended without a majority) in terms of the official election it was won by the Commonwealth Party, in their second ever election as an official party, and its candidate Shane Wray who (if a majority had been found) would've been the youngest Central Shaneville President ever at just 20 years old.

To be able to vote in Central Shaneville elections:
- Voter must be 18 years old by election day
- a Central Shaneville citizen

Background
In January 2018, due to health problems, President Chase Owens stepped down and was replaced with John Poseidon who was criticized for his way of handling the country, Poseidon was described as "all over the place" by the public and parliament alike but he soon found his stride and was a president that loved the people however as COVID-19 hit Shanevillean shores he struggled to stay on top of it resorting to calming people down with daily updates during news broadcasts.
With the election on the horizon though Poseidon made it clear that he wanted a chance to run for a first proper term so announced he would run for President this year instead of handing over the reigns of the Liberal Democrats to someone else he would be running against the new Commonwealth party (in its 2nd ever election) and a National and Labor party coalition following both their losses at the 2016 election with Owens' opponent Michael Noth returning as the Coalitions candidate, the Commonwealth opted for Shane Wray who had little experience in politics but wanted to show the world that young people can do it and with the Commonwealth being a "party for the young people" they announced it was time for change in the country.
Debates
This year there was only 2 debates instead of 3 - both were held at the Central Shaneville Parliament and took place during Media Week, the second debate featured (for the first time ever) people from around the NationStates world were allowed to ask the candidates questions.
According to the media of Central Shaneville, John Poseidon won both debates with Shane Wray also impressing.

The polls were closed from 6pm-8pm in the 29 districts of Central Shaneville, a result was called in at 2am the following morning with no majority being reached, the final results looked like this:

Aftermath
The day after the election at around 10am the Central Shaneville parliament finally came to a decision and that was to have a re-election between the 3 candidates in December and whilst the election was big for the Commonwealth party who technically won it they were upset by what had happened and aimed for an even better campaign in December which will be a week long to see if the parties can gain more support.
