General Elections were held in Casabo on April 10, 2022
to elect a new composition of the Junta Vecinal after the incumbent President, Ignacio Zoido announced his intention to resign and give another candidate an opportunity to govern. The Communist Azize Aslanbey, native to Midyat in Mardin Province was elected with a 92% percent of the votes, making her the first woman to reach the highest position of the Executive.
