ImpactPrimary cause of the Great Hana Exile, caused the formation of modern day Matsumae and the development of the independent Matsumaean cultural and ethnic grouping, alongside having a major impact of the course of the Republican Wars in Jungg'o. Thousands to tens of thousands dead.

Mount Hitakami is a formerly active volcano located in the center of the Matsumae Islands, split in the present day between the Republic of Matsumae and Fukuyama, although at the time of eruption it was under the control of a poorly-recorded Hana state. It would erupt in 337 BCE, in one of the largest recorded detonations in human history - being a VEI-7 volcanic eruption which fundamentally destroyed the Hana civilization which had existed on Matsumae for generations - alongside having a number of later impacts due to the amount of material it released into the atmosphere, causing a spree of famine in both the Nán Yánshēn, Jungg'o, and surrounding regions - including the modern day territory of Azura and Cathalina-Magea, fundamentally weakening the monarchical powers in Jungg'o and playing a role in the ultimate success of Republican forces during the Republican Wars. It would also trigger the Great Hana Exile which lead to the establishment of modern-day Kozakura.

The eruption is one of the most chronicled events in early Hiakemirian history, with Kāichrén, Jien, and Bèiqūren artwork and pottery detailing the event being found in large quantities. A number of smaller eruptions were reputed to have occured in the months following the 337BCE eruption, although these have been less discussed in historical literature due to their lesser effect on the East Hiakemirian region as a whole.
