Abeshia Imperial Post (Amharic: ሀበሻ ኢምፔሪያል ፖስት) is the state-owned agency responsible for national postal services in the Empire of Abeshia Established in 1865, it is one of the oldest continously operating institutions in the country. The Imperial Post of Abeshia is responsible for transporting 4 million parcels, connecting some 25,000 cities, towns, and villages throughout the empire while employing 21,400 people operating in aroun 1,500 post offices across the country.

History

The Abeshia Imperial Post was officially established on 5 April 1865 by order of Emperor Tewodros IV who issued an imperial edict granting two Swiss residents Albert Arner and Thomas Isch.
