Adasir is the Imerian god of laws, justice and the patron god of the position of lawspeaker. When he appears so is he seen as an old wiser man with a white beard but still fit and he is also an accomplished fighter.

He is said to be the god that gave humans the first divine law and he is the god called for in the old things during criminal disputes, especially trial by fire or trial by combat are two domains the god is said to sit in judgement over. This makes him similar but also different to Helia the goddess of death that also sit in judgement. However similar to many figures of Imerian religion so does they both display separate parts of one coin, male and female, nature and civilisation, while Helia judges the soul so does Adasir judge ones actions taking no account of the reasoning behind the actions but still doing his best making sure that the judgements he passes are fair and just.

Birth

It is said that Adasir sprung from a pool of blood from a righteous chieftain that was captured and beheaded by the Wharen. When the spears of the Wharen pierced the man did he cry out for justice and from his blood did Adasir sprung. The old man looked at the body of the chieftain and hunted down and slew his killers.

Adasir in the sagas

Adasir is often called upon in the sagas to settle disputes between kings and tribal chiefs and he is said to have invented both trial by combat and trial by fire. In one war between an old king of Mörkerige and a Vedian king did he say that it should be settled in combat and he would favour the sword of the just. The two men fought and in the end did the Vedian king finally win in the duel.

Similarly did he invent the trial by fire to determine the guilt of a thief, the thief was forced to let an iron rod rest in boiling water before taking it up and walking "the length a thrown axe flies". The thief's hand became infected and according to the old laws so was he declared guilty as a result.

Children

Adasir have not fathered any children.

Worship of Adasir

There are not many prayers or blot directed to Virlavir as he is seen as a minor god but in all sects of the faith so are there four days of the year, the official days when the season ends, when large bonefires are lit and boars or cats are sacrificed to the god in the hope of helping him across the sky. However in Jarntra so are simply fish or whales sacrificed instead and as is common to the faith so do they throw their sacrifices into the ocean instead of burning them.
