Pope Adedodatus XVIII (Born Christophorus Lorantus Augustinus, 23 January, 1888) is the current reigning Pope, universal leader of the Catholic Church, head of all Alpanian Rite churches, the Bishop of Alpana, and sovereign ruler of the Ecclesiastical Estate. Born as Christophorus Lorantus Augustinus as the youngest of eight in the lower class family in the Kingdom of Nymeria in the Holy Aventine Empire, he was known for his exceptional intelligence from a young age, despite not being desirous of attention. He joined the Order of Preachers, becoming ordained a Dominican Priest. His humility and intellect impressed many, and despite his personal wish he was elected the Provincial Superior for the Dominicans in the Kingdom of Nymeria at the age of 31. His theological fame and notoriety grew, and his tract on Predestination so greatly impressed the Pope that he was named as the Master of the Sacred Apostolic Palace when he was a 34 years old, becoming a close confidant of Pope Soter V. Serving in this position for 6 years, in 1928 he was made the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Hypolitum, before becoming the Archbishop and a Cardinal after the death of Marcus Reresus, as well as the Secretary of the College of Cardinals. After serving as Arcbhishop for only 2 years, he participated in the Papal Conclave after the death of Pope Soter. In a move that stunned the world, he was elected at the very young age of 48. As Pope, he has combined a firm stance on theological orthodoxy with a call for increased personal humility and devotion to our Lord. He is well loved by many for his simplicity and humility, his clarity and orthodoxy, and for his strong devotion, although he has made enemies of several reformist clergymen for his traditional views.
