The Aegolius was a proposed supersonic strategic bomber that was to be built for the Republic of Syara. It was intended to fulfill the role of a long range strike platform for the Syaran Army Air Corps, replacing the older Coronis. Technical drawing and blueprints for the aircraft were produced in late 1982, but the Refusal War broke out before work on a functioning prototype could begin. A 1:25 scale mockup of the aircraft was created, but was destroyed during the war. Some of the technical readouts were recovered by the Commonality after the war, but the Commonality Air Force declined to continue the project.

The Aegolius had been drawn up following the SAAC's expressed desire for a strategic bomber aircraft following the conclusion of the Granika Border War, where maritime influence of the Sanguine and Sundering Sea returned to prominence within Syaran strategic military planning. The SAAC had never been satisified with the Coronis design, due to its technically complicated construction and heavy maintenance demand, and there was general desire for a much more modern and stable platform. The Aegolius closest comparison would have likely been the Cacertian AFSB-3 Fenice Strategic Bomber; like the Fenice, the Aegolius would have been a variable-sweep wing capable of carrying large payloads of both anti-ship missiles and land-attack ordinance. It would also have been equipped with a powerful long range radar and an extensvie electronic counter-measure system. It would have been capable of around Mach 2-2.3 with an estimated range of around 1,000-2,000 nautical miles.
