The Aetolian Armed Forces (Greek: Αιτωλικές Ένοπλες Δυνάμεις, Aitolikés Énoples Dynámeis) are the combined military forces of Aetolia. They consist of three service branches: the Aetolian Army, the Aetolian Navy and the Aetolian Air Force, all under the Aetolian National Defense General Staff. The total number of personnel in the Armed Forces is roughly 1,000,000 men and women, though this number can theoretically rise dramatically during wartime.

History

Structure

Aetolian Army

The Aetolian Army has two main components: Arms (responsible for combat operations) and Corps (responsible for logistical support). The Army is organised in a Brigade-based structure, with these being part of Divisions, which are in turn part of Army Corps. The four Army Corps of the Aetolian Army are organised into two Armies. Its main mission is to guarantee the territorial integrity and independence of the state.

Aetolian Navy

The Aetolian Navy possesses a powerful fleet, consisted of strike units (surface combatants) and support vessels in order to conduct naval operations that ensure the protection of Aetolian maratime territories. The Aetolian Navy also possesses its own air arm, the Aetolian Naval Aviation.

Aetolian Air Force

The Aetolian Air Force has an array of moden aircraft at its disposal, such as the TBD mutlirole fighters, though there are notably some older types in service, such as some late TBD variants. The Aetolian Air Force also has the country's air defence and early warning and control network under its command.
