The Company was founded in 1902 in Akria, as a arms production syndicate under the 1900 Industrialization program. The Syndicate is famous for such designs as the Type-1 Conversion Rifle, AA-46 and other sporting and civilian firearms.
History
Akria Armaments was founded in 1902 in the city of Akria. Its three founders initially met working in a machine shop prior to the revolution, and had a shared interest in firearm design. After the Revolution, they re-connected to now felt the current political situation was a good a time as any to form a venture. They officially did so in June of 1902, forming the Akria Armaments Syndicate. Their formation as a syndicate netted them initial capital from the Central government as part of the ca 1900 industrialization plan. They used this money to purchase basic tooling to perform modifications to fire arms. Their first successful project was the Type 0 Conversion Rifle, which was a custom rechambering of the then-standard bolt action military rifle, into various calibers for the civilian market. Although popular with buyers, the limited reach of their products and the limited market space meant that not many were built.
By 1910 Akria Arms had continued to produce guns on a small scale for various customers, primarily sporting guns, such as shotguns, and hunting rifles. The firm also produced the 4 prototypes for the Komet Auto-Loading Rifle. Experience with this project along with others allowed them to garner their first military contract with the Type 1 Conversion Rifle, which beat out the Komet in trials due to its conversion of the extant rifles in inventory.
During the 2nd Global war Akria continued to produce numerous firearms for a wide variety of applications, both on the ground and in the air. By this time they had expanded to become on of the largest firearms producers in Librira and was one of the largest consumers in the materials used in gun blueing.
After the war the company designed perhaps its most well known firearm, the AA-46 a rifle which continues to serve with the Libriran Armed forces today, and Akria Arms has developed it into a family of firearms to fufill a wide variety of roles, and the rifle has been one of Librira's most successful export weapons.
