Plot

The film starts with Yamato arriving on the University of St. Georgius. He had been a failure on his previous endeavors and hoped for the best when he transferred. He is welcomed friendly by Class 3A-C and is first approached by Setsuna Kitahara, who is eager to know about his ability to sing and convinced him to join the light music club. Yamato, at first could not agree as he seemed disinterested. Yamato places more effort into studying and topping his class in history and accountancy, receiving praise among his classmates. A few months later, There was a music festival and many were expecting Setsuna to join in. She decided to convince Yamato to join her. Yamato agreed just because of the music festival and Setsuna looked promising. However, the two needed a pianist.

One day, Yamato was walking along the corridor when he heard a piano playing. He recognized the song and curiously went to the piano room to see his fellow classmate, Louise Evans playing it. Yamato convinced Louise to join him and Setsuna. She agreed but a hint of uneasiness. The three form a friendship as they practiced for the music festival. As the festival was approaching, Setsuna and Louise develop a friendship and described Louise as her best friend. At the day of the music festival, The trio won first place and celebrated with a bash.

Soon, Weeks pass by and Setsuna realizes that she is developing feelings for Yamato. Unlike other males in the school, She is treated as an ordinary person by Yamato and not some winner from a beauty pageant contest. Louise on the other hand also develops feelings for Yamato but she could not bring herself to confess her feelings to him and decides to be clandestine about it. Yamato on the other hand decides to lie low for a time. This began with him refusing further offers from other people as well as being offered into a position in the light music club, which he later leaves.

Days pass and Yamato is stuck in a deep depression which he was eventually able to recover with Louise's help. Setsuna later convinces Yamato to go back and he agreed. During the School Festival for Culture, Setsuna confesses her feelings to Yamato and they start dating. This made Louise start to avoiding the two. Yamato then feels uneasy about Louise. He is later comforted by Setsuna, who tells her about his tragic past. However, She tells him that she will be 'there' for him no matter what.

One night, Yamato fell asleep in the the club room. Louise whispered in her mind about her feelings to him and delivered a kiss to him as Setsuna witnessed the whole thing. Setsuna immdiately runs away crying, realizing that her best friend was also in love with Yamato. Later, Yamato woke up with an uneasy feeling in him. He sees Setsuna was there to comfort him. He asked where Louise was and Setsuna replied that she 'left' early. Setsuna confessed again and Yamato acknowledges it. Rumors in the school soon spread that Setsuna and Yamato are dating. His classmates then persuaded Yamato to strengthen himself with Setsuna and forget about Louise. Yamato, however, refused.

Louise soon found out the incident about Yamato being told and could not stand seeing Yamato and Setsuna together, resulting in her becoming increasingly distant with Yamato, yet still maintaining her friendship with Setsuna. Yamato then starts becoming concerned about Louise. He soon walks up to her and started to develop feelings for Louise whilst still dating Setsuna. Louise increasingly receives confidence due to Yamato cheering her up on several occasions. This made Louise to be more confident around Yamato whilst keeping her feelings a secret.

It seemed that everything returned back to normal when Yamato, Setsuna and Louise started to hang out again. But one day, Setsuna finds out that Yamato has feelings for Louise when she caught the two kissing resulting to Setsuna running away. Yamato felt guilty about cheating on Setsuna as he was still on a relationship with her. At this point, Yamato started to question himself on who he wanted to be with. He started to even question whether if he wanted to break-up with Setsuna to be with Louise or forget about Louise. He knew that Louise had given a much heavier load to change his ways while Setsuna also played a role on his life. He became indecisive about his choices.

Setsuna then realized that it was Louise that Yamato truly loves and that Louise had feelings for him from the start with Yamato reciprocating her feelings clandestinely after the School Festival despite the fact that she and Yamato are dating. Louise, on the other hand tentatively plans to leave for New Akiba to follow her sister, feeling that she couldn't be with Yamato. On Setsuna's birthday, She tried to set up a party with just the three of them, hinting at a desperation to keep their friendship intact only to end up as a failure when neither of the two showed up.

Later, Yamato is confronted by Louise and questioned him about his feelings for Setsuna. He replied that he couldn't make up his mind but he was in-love with her more than he ever loved Setsuna. With that confession, Yamato and Louise shared a night. Louise knew that something bad would happen if this continued. To prevent it, He breaks out to Yamato that she will leave for New Akiba soon. Yamato then felt heartbroken and soon, leaves her. Her departure was soon proven genuine when she showed Yamato her ticket for a flight to New Akiba.

A few days later, Louise told Setsuna that she was going to move to New Akiba. Setsuna replied that Yamato respected her decision and would see her off happily. She intuitively knew that they met on her birthday and Yamato was disappointed when he learned about what Setsuna had done. Yamato realized that he is the reason for Louise's planned departure. He was too unsure of his own feelings that he lost the woman that he loved the most and loved a woman that he couldn't love back because of his own insecurities that resulted him into cheating the latter for the other. Setsuna on the other hand realized that she had betrayed Louise on the point of what she told to Yamato and her love for Yamato was a driving force for her to turn her back on her own best friend. On the other hand, Louise felt her guilt as she was too afraid to confess her feelings to Yamato.

Setsuna revealed to Alexander later that she witnessed Louise kissing a sleeping Yamato on the night of the School Festival which promted Setsuna to confess to Yamato. Hoping that she can avoid becoming a third wheel and still be able to win Yamato's heart if she had confessed before Kazusa could. On the day of Louise's flight, Yamato and Setsuna see Louise before her flight and Yamato and Louse share a kiss before departing, causing Setsuna to go up in tears. Later, Yamato confessed to Setsuna that he cheated on her with Louise. Setsuna did not blame them or vent her anger on them claiming that she betrayed them first by using his own insecurity and guilt and did not deserved to be angry or upset.

Years later, Yamato is now married to Setsuna and meets up with their old colleagues. Up to that day, He is still haunted by his mistakes. On the other hand, Louise returns to the UK to check on things. Yamato tells Setsuna that he needs to go out for a walk. On the way, Louise sees Yamato. The two share an embrace while watching the sunset as Yamato whispers that if he had to turn back time, It would be the time that he made his choice.
