Alexei Rokva (15 June 1932 – 8 August 2002) was a Ruvelkan chess player, grandmaster, and World Chess Champion considered to be one of the greatest players of his era. By the age of 23, Rokva was among the strongest chess players in the world having won most of the tournaments in which he played. In 1965 at the age of 33, Alexei reached his career peak rating of 2880 which is still the highest recorded to date.
