AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1967
AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1967 is the tenth edition of the annual AleziRadio Festival of Songs. It was held on 16th of May 1967, which was held and organized by Radio Zafizamarrah after Makarina Hisyamuraddin's victory last year. This is the third time that the region has hosted the competition in its territory, and the first time that a region hosted twice in a row after doing so last year. It was won by Pyalivostok with the song "Выбирая свои пути" sung by Harzanov Kalicheev. This marks the fourth time of Pyalivostok winning the competition, after doing so in 1958, 1961, and 1964.
Celebrating its 10th edition, The competition returned to its roots by returning the competition to the Independence Hall, which was the host of the first ever host venue of ARFOS. Other than that, the competition saw most of the staff of the previous year returning, with the exception of the presenter, Nurayda Hasyima, which also presented the first competition.
The competition saw Daya Island finally debuting separately from Pyalivostok, bringing the total of entries to 18. The Island itself has sent a song representing Pyalivostok, which won the competition in 1964 after a tight tie-breaker round.
For the competition, the Independence Hall is expanded to allow additional 2,000 seats, making the competition watched by 6,000 people in the hall, and 170 million people listening on AleziRadio, making history as one of the most-watched editions in the history of the competition. The year also saw an introduction of the first quartet on the competition, which is a team called "Helsinki" representing Daya Island.
And for the first time, interval acts are introduced as a way to introduce more of the host region's culture. This year, two interval acts happened. The first one is Makarina Hisyamuraddin who won last year singing her winning song "حقيقة", which was enacted between Song No. 9 and Song No. 10. The second one is an opera performance by Isamurania Nahluddina of the song "Maqqa", which was a hit in North Alezia at the time. It was enacted after the last song, which also used as a gap in order to give the juries more time on grading their songs.
Also for the first time in the history of AleziRadio Festival of Songs, a song has received no points from any region, with Sragan Na'epan Dadon's "A'i" from Pantabang Islands earning zero points.
Incidents
Bristolian Entries
The Selection of both entries from Bristol of the year resulted in a massive controversy as both songs are sung in French. Numerous people had sent complaints due to the fact that Bristol is primarily an English-speaking region, with only 6% of the population speaking French. The complaints even reached AleziRadio, where AleziRadio decided that both songs should kept being sung in French.
Pariticipating Entries and Results
Debuting region Daya Island's entries are put on the two last positions. Tiebreaking rule now applies to all songs, where the song who earned the most 5 points compared to the other is put higher on the position. And thus, since Pyalivostok and Aramna (who both received 21 points on one of their songs) have the same amount of five points, the tiebreaker was decided using the amount of four points, which Pyalivostok has more (two sets of four points) compared to Aramna (no sets of four points)
