AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1972 is the fifteenth edition of the annual AleziRadio Festival of Songs. It was held on 16th of May 1972, which was organized by Radio Zafizamarrah. The competition was held in the newly built Amtarani Performing Arts Centre located in the Northern part of Metropolitan Zafizamarrah, which was still mostly empty at the time and was still planned for the expansion of the Metropolitan City.
The year has no returning artists, which means all artists are participating in ARFOS for the first time, this is the first time since 1968 that there are no recorded returning artists. It was rumoured that Aziz Goridagyev Novogrody tried to represent Pyalivostok again at this year, but a year later in an interview he denied the rumour saying that "It's too early for me to return to AleziRadio Festival of Songs". Rumoured artists include previous winners Harzanov Kalicheev, Ika Naavalainen, and Madina Sawfana. All three denied the rumour even though Madina Sawfana got to present the show herself, and also presented her winning song last year as an interval act.
The competition was won by Masfir Hawraz and Ana Ruhamaina with the song "لطموحات". This marks Zafizamarrah's sixth win after 1962, 1965, 1966, 1968, and 1971. This also marks the second time that Zafizamarrah has won twice in a row (after doing so in 1965 and 1966). This also marks the first time that a duet won the competition and the first Husband and Wife to win the competition.
For the first time, the jury system was further standardized. Due to each region sending two teams of juries, the teams has to be divided between "below-30" and "over-30", and AleziRadio further recommended that each team of juries has to have 5 people as members, and it was mandated that the juries were made of professionals only.
This year also introduced public voting where the same voting method ensues but only being able to vote once per region. In this years' public voting, the public was given the preview of all songs every day from two weeks before the competition, which then the public would send a postcard with their favorite song's number to the Regional/Territorial Postal Office. The votes will be counted and the five most voted songs will be given points using the same method as the juries. In order to avoid vote-rigging, voters are required to register their citizenship number to make sure people can only vote once. The postal office opened voting until three days before the competition.
Due to the addition of the public votes, a song now can earn the maximum of 130 points compared to 90 in previous years. AleziRadio commented that the Public Vote was added to celebrate the competition's 15th edition, and would continue if the amount of voters met a certain treshold nationally.
The competition also saw a graphical update, where AleziRadio gave independence to regional radios towards their design for the competition in order to increase creativity and uniqueness, so the competition remained fresh.
Incidents
Phone Line Malfunction
The competition was considered a great success, especially considering that the public can vote from now on, however, the competition was nearly cancelled due to a phone line malfunction that happened one day before the competition that affected phone line connection nationally, which won't be fixed until a week after the competition. Thankfully, a suggestion of using Amateur Radios was heard and was enacted immediately. Thankfully the connection of Amateur Radios happened smoothly with Amateur Radio Operators telling all Amateur Radio Users of Alezia (AleziRadio ARUA) to halt all contact using amateur radio except for emergencies along the progress of the voting procedure. Luckily, no emergencies happened so the voting went smoothly.

Impact
The competition was praised for the increase of quality songs and excellent sound quality even with the limitations of not being able to use the phone due to the aforementioned phone line cut.
Thanks to the winning song, Zafizamarrah erupted in fireworks as people shouted in joy at the radio knowing that Zafizamarrah had won twice in a row again. The artists earned national stardom and their announcement of their first child who was born two years later named Antalya Hawraz - Ruhamaina was met with high enthusiasm. Antalya would end up being a popular actress in the 90s.
