Winning song"شيء أريد أن أقول" by Andi Ma'ruf Hazari

AleziRadio Festival of Songs 1999 is the fourty-second edition of the annual AleziRadio Festival of Songs. The competition was held as usual in 16th of May 1999 by the authorities of Radio Basna Raya. This is the seventh time that Basna hosted the competition after doing so previously in 1964, 1981, 1987, 1989, 1990, and 1992 after the victory of Niyaura Andarinda with the song "Bayangan Seindah Dunia". This year's festival is also the last festival to be held on the 20th century.

The festival was won by Andi Ma'ruf Hazari with the song "شيء أريد أن أقول" representing Zafizamarrah. This marks the region's fifteenth victory, while all of the host regions' songs (Basna) finished the whole podium, earning Basna's 5th second place and 2nd third place.

As per usual in Basnaharian Radio tradition, the competition was once again held with cooperation between Radio Basna Dalam (RBD), Radio Basna Kota dan Pesisir (RBKP), and Radio Basna Kepulauan Luar (RBKL).

The festival took place in Kota Basna, which is the capital of the region of Basna and as of 1999, the second biggest regional capital behind Metropolitan Zafizamarrah, housing 1,299,834 people. Initially, Hotel Santader was to host the event once again, however the Hotel administrators refused to host again due to a reconstruction it's going to face the month after the festival.

After the refusal was announced to the public, RBR got contacted by the organizers of the once-only-in-a-lifetime Basna Millenium Festival. The organizers offered RBR the right to host the competition in the Festival area. The organizers convinced RBR due to the fact that the venue that they offered would be the biggest ARFOS venue by seating count at the time and "a way to close ARFOS' 20th century adventure in a good note". RBR accepted the offer, and the competition was to be hosted in the festival's area. This means that this year is the second time that ARFOS becomes a part of another event, after "technically" becoming a part of Aarenfestival back in 1995.

Located on the center of the festival area, the temporary tent of the festival has a circular seating of 25,000 people. This amount of seating shattered previous records, making it the biggest venue by seating. This is also the first time that a circular seating was used for the competition/ The orchestra pit are located on the back of the stage, still visible by the audience.

Graphic-wise, this is the first competition to not use the Coca-Cola design language, instead going for an independent styling named "Alezia Millenium".
