The Amathian Empyreal Republic (Amathian: Ⱃⰵⱂⱆⰱⰾⰹⰽⰰ Ⰵⰿⱂⰹⱃⰵⰰⰾⱐ Ⰰⰿⰰⱚⱐ, tr. Republica Empireală Amathă) was a theocratic directorial republic established in Amathia in 1790 by a group of Amathian revolutionaries which had earned the support of the invading Etrurian forces. Inspired by the Etrurian republican system, the Empyreal Republic was led as an autonomous ecumenical republic under strong Etrurian control and influence, but with a specific Episemialist revolutionary system known as Epyrealism, a mystical movement that advocated for a restoration of the Terrestrial Paradise in the form of an Earthly Empyreum, by overthrowing the aristocracy and restoring the liberty and spiritualism of the people, in preparation for the Second Coming of Sotiras. The ideology never managed to the gain the support of the Episemialist Church, and despite its initial popularity, the Empyreal Republic struggled to maintain control over its territory, resorting to violent suppression in face of local revolts. The defeats suffered by Republics throughout Euclea also prepared the collapse of the Amathian Republic, as the withdrawal of Etrurian forces allowed the armies of the Coalition, together with the forces of the Amathian exiles, to conquer Arciluco and to reestablish the monarchy, through the Tresian Proclamation that created a constitutional monarchy under the House of Telois-Tresia.
The origins of the Empyreal Republic lie in the military defeat of the Unio Trium Nationum at the hands of the Etrurian republicans during both the War of the Leagues and the Liberation Crusades. The loss of Novalia and Carinthia crippled the Union's government and ruined its support among the aristocracy. As the Union's Senate proved unable to find a political solution to the crisis, the situation worsened as popular revolts began throughout the territories still under the Union's control. The beginning of the Liberation Crusades by Etruria led to a complete collapse of the Union's authority and control. With the arrival of the Republican armies in the eastern Amathian city of Cedonia, a group of revolutionaries belonging to the Society for the Restoration of the Earthly Empyreum earned the support of the local commanders, and proclaimed the establishment of the Republic.
