The Anastasia Herzogin von Hohenstein International High School is a Rombergian sponsored educational institution located in the Horti Julii section of Paradise City on the Via Tiberius III. The student body is a mix of Rombergian expatriates, Blachelm Confederate nationals and students from other countries, and includes both boys and girls. The school serves students from ages five to eighteen, with some of the finest facilities in the city including a swimming pool and Smart Boards in every classroom. Additionally, smartphone and laptop ownership are compulsory, and admissions to the school are highly selective, with a clear preference towards Rombergian national students.

The school has a strong, well rounded curriculum, with primary school students enduring a rigorous classload of math, social studies, science, computer science, physical education, English, and a choice of either Russian, German, or Latin, and secondary school students taking all of the above as well as classes in Astyrian affairs, life skills (essentially a survival course designed to help students cope with the wilderness and foster independence and discipline), and the humanities, which includes classical Rombergian language, arts, and literature. Sports and arts taken as co-curricular activities, with expected participation in at least one from secondary school.

The campus also has a sizeable wooded area set against the Canalis Sancte Gregorii, which allows students to be closer to nature and practice some of the things they learned during their life skills classes.

History

The present day location of the Anastasia Herzogin von Hohenstein International High School was originally used as a summer home for the Livonius family before the property was purchased by Gunnar Torfasen in 1861. For the next hundred and twenty eight years, the location became home to a Rombergian cultural association known as the Torfasen Club, which gathered to discuss Rombergian art and heritage. The location was also used by Rombergian freedom fighters to meet and discuss plans for revolution against Valkea, safe in the knowledge that they were far out of reach of the Valkean secret police.

The building changed its objective again in 1989 when the Anastasia Herzogin von Hohenstein International High School opened its doors. The building, named for a patrician Exponential woman who married into Rombergian high society, continues the mission of the Torfasen Club by continuing to educate Paradisians about Rombergian history and culture, but also prepares young Rombergian students with a crucial link to their homeland and prepares them for their eventual return to the Kingdom.
