Arab citizens of Altava

Arab citizens of Altava, or Arab Altavans, are Altavan citizens who are Arab. Many Arab citizens of Altava self-identify as Algerian and commonly self-designate themselves as Algerian citizens of Altava or Altavan Algerians.

The traditional vernacular of most Arab citizens, irrespective of religion, is Maghrebi Arabic; having absorbed many French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese loanwords and phrases, the modern dialect of Arab citizens of Altava is defined by some as the Altavan Arabic dialect.[8] Most Arab citizens of Altava are functionally bilingual, their second language being Altavan French.
