The Arkyatani Defense Forces (Arkyatani Hubbeq) are the armed forces of the Imperial Union of Arkyatan. The ADF is composed of three branches, the Arkyatani Land Forces. the Arkyatani Aerospace Forces, and the Arkyatani Navy. The ADF operates under the authority of the Bureau of Defense and answers to the commander-in-chief, which is nominally the Regent of the Imperial Union.
The exact size of the ADF is disputed. The Bureau of Defense maintains the official number of military personnel is 10,000,000, but most foreign observers believe the actual number is less than 1 million. While the ADF officially records millions of personnel and hundreds of regiments and divisions, most of it's forces are relegated to reserve status and are in a low state of readiness.
