Armando Tochika Kanbayashi y Takayama (26 July 1940) is a former Ilarian politician who served as the 6th President of Ilari from 28 July 1990 to 12 September 2001. During his tenure, he and his government created the ideology of Kanbayashism, which promoted economic liberalism and social conservatism. His presidency was of mixed reception. On one hand, he is credited with stabilizing Ilari's economy and government, and eliminating the Guadosalam-supported insurrection instigated by the Frontera de la Prosperidad. On the other, he was involved in a corruption and embezzlement scandal with his First Vice President Álvaro Pascual Dávalos, former Second Vice President Luz Graciani and National Intelligence Agency Director Aapeli Junttila, which subsequently became his reason for resigning the presidency; alongside this, he advocated for a personality cult to be revolved around him, his policies, and his family as is promoted through his ideology, and propagated human rights violations.
