Augustus Tertullius (born 6 March 1970) is a former Confederate racing driver and a seven-time Astyrian Formula One champion. During his F1 career, he raced from 1992 to 2008 for Garland, Orchid, Raamaker, and Phaeton - the latter of which he won the majority of his championships with. Regarded by many as one of the greatest racing drivers in Astyrian motorsports, he currently holds the all-time record of seven Astyrian F1 Drivers' Championship titles, and currently maintains the record for most wins (95), most pole positions (70), and most fastest laps (73).
Early life and career
Augustus Tertullius was born to a patrician family in Wennavua, in the Empire of Exponent. Tertullius' father, Marcellus, was the owner of a local karting track and provided Augustus with his very first motorized go-kart when he was just five years old.
By his early teenage years, Tertullius was actively competing in karting races across Hesperidesia, securing his first every championship win at the age of fourteen by capturing the Charvonian Karting Cup for the U-16 division.
By 1987, Tertullius moved to single-seater racing and joined several junior formula series. Funded heavily by his father as well as F3 promoter Marius Redwall, Tertullius competed in the Hesperidesian Formula 3 series and won the championship in 1989, taking six victories.
Following his successful 1989 title run, Tertullius attracted the attention of auto manufacturer Raamaker, who offered to sponsor his junior formula career. Raamaker sponsored his move to Lorecia so he can join the Formula Raamaker 3.0 Series in 1990. During the same period, Tertullius also entered in the Lorecian Grand Touring Series on a part-time basis, regularly performing as a solid midfield driver. It was at this time where he gained experience from endurance races such as the 24 Hours of Saint Moritz.
