Austrova, formally known as the Republic of Austrova, is an island nation located in Northern Vosmona. As an island nation, it has no land borders. It's closest maritime neighbours are Eullania, Gieckau, Kalda and Nervaia.
History
Regno mi Austrova
Historically, the island of Austrova was settled by Naira indigenous people, who lived on the island in a decentralised tribal system for ~11,000 years, mostly unchanged. Beginning in the early 3500s, settlers from the mainland began to approach the island, including Drywg, Seriph, Amrosyan and Maritime settlers. Initially, Seriph settlers won out, in part thanks to their strategic settlement of Calhoun, later the capital and largest city. Through the first half of the 3500s, more Seriph settlements were made along the Western Coast. In 3556 the Regno mi Austrova (Dominion of Austrova) was formally declared, claiming the entire island as a possession of the Seriph Empire. During the Seriph-Vilemyri War of 3612, Austrova limited it's involvement, as it was still at a low level of development, and boasted no navy. Still, several Austrovan regiments fought under Seriph command on the mainland, with several Austrovans receiving military recognition for bravery. In the end, the war ended with minor Seriph concessions to Vilemyr.

Maritime Subjugation
In 3686, the Maritime Subjugation of Seriphaph began. Austrova entered the war on the side of it's overlord, and by this time, had a small but well-trained navy, and organised a proper army as well. The combined navies of Austrova and the Seriph Empire successfully fended off the first Maritime Naval attack in the Battle for the Bay of Muromia. At the same time, Austrovan divisions participated in frontlines against Muromia and Qyronia. Minor skirmishes took place in the waters between Eullania and Austrova during this time as well. By the end of the year, additional Maritime Fleets arrived in Eullania from the mainland. In early 3687, Maritime fleets returned to Muromia, while the Seriph ships had already retreated South. On
