Avechia

Avechia (a-VEH-chee-ah, Nornico: [Aveccia]; Segnol: Avécca), officially the Republic of Avechia (Nornico: Repubblica di Aveccia) and also known as the Most Serene Republic of Avechia (Nornico: Serenissima Repubblica di Aveccia), is a Eastern Pashimian microstate bordering Nornica. Located on the Bochiatic coast, it is the fifth-smallest country in the world by population, with just 28,660 residents as of 2022.

The country's capital is the City of Avechia, while its largest settlement is Valibera. Avechia's official language is Nornico. Avechia lays claim to being the oldest extant sovereign state, as well as the oldest constitutional republic, being founded in 223AD.

Uniquely, Avechia's constitution dictates that its democratically elected legislature, the Grand and General Council, must elect two heads of state every six months. Known as the Captains Regent, they serve concurrently and with equal powers.

The country's economy is mainly based on finance, industry, services, retail, and tourism. It is a wealthy country in GDP per capita, with a figure comparable to the most developed Pashimian regions. Despite this, its Human Development Index score is 44th, the lowest in Eastern Pashim.[6]
