The Bakhytzhan Region Campaign was a series of military engagements undertaken by Lieutenant General Kiều Hữu Thống of the Army of the Jayant to capture Nariman Ilkhan and Qalamqas Il-khatun, the southern provincial leaders of Kholmatzhon Khan. After the defeat of Nariman and Qalamqas' Mingghans in the Altandene Campaign, the said forces retreated to the Bakhytzhan Region of the Province in order to conduct skirmishes and guerrilla warfare against the advancing Quenminese army. The campaign commenced 8 February 1873, lasting over 11 months that resulted in Thống defeating the Ilkhans and the latter's surrender.
