The Battle of Afthansa was a minor battle in the Second Great War between the Rhodeve Protectorate Program and the Empire of Tao and The Bohin. A shipment of Taoist aircraft, munitions and trucks destined for The Bohin was attacked by Protectorate forces near the Bay of Afthansa. It was known for being the battle which saw the complete destruction of 70-O3rd RPP Aerial Wing.

Lead-up to the Battle

On March 2, 1942, Molenstoni spy, Urdu Bokar embedded within Bohi central command discovered an incoming shipment of supplies destined for the Bohi front lines. A day later, this message was passed on to Molenstoni high command and Protectorate forces stationed in the region. On March 5, Bokar was discovered and tortured into revealing his messages. He was later executed by firing squad. The schedule for the shipment of the goods was reduced by 3 days and would be protected by Bohi ships as well as Taoist ones.

RPP intelligence deciphered Bohi coded messages to discover this change in timetable and prepared a fleet to face off against the combined enemy navy.

The Battle

The fighting began at 10:43am when Taoist battleships opened fire on nearby RPP cruisers.

Results

The Bohi-Taoist fleet split up, with Taoist forces returning home. Around 50 tonnes of munitions destined for The Bohin was sunk in the bay, and no aircraft reached The Bohin undamaged. While not considered influential in terms of changing the war in either the Bohi or Taoist fronts, the Battle of Afthansa is considered the start of the extensive anti-trade war between the RPP and The Bohin to reduce foreign interference in the front.
