The Battle of Káloz was an engagement between the Ruvelkian Imperial Fusiliers's 11th Battalion and the Syaran National Army's 28th Mechanized Rifle Division.
Following the general retreat of the Imperial Armed Forces of Ruvelka during the Syaran August Offensives, the 11th Fusiliers was ordered to delay the advance of the 28th Mechanized Rifle Division to give time for the bulk of the Ruvelkan Army forces in and around Káloz to withdraw. The 11th Battalion procceded to use a variety of delaying tactics, making use of the rough terrian and nearby forests to harass and disrupt the advance of the 28th Mechanized Rifle Division. Despite being outnumbered nearly 46 to 1, the Fusiliers were successful in holding off the Syaran division for four days of constant fighting. The 11th Battalion, already reduced due to heavy fighting elsewhere, suffered heavy casualties and was left with under a third of it's strength left. Nevertheless the successful delay far exceeded expectations and delayed the advance of Syaran forces in the sector by a considerable margin.
The actions of the 11th Battalion quickly entered into the lore of Ruvelkan military history and the unit was subject to a great deal of attention by both the Ruvelkan Government and international press.
