The Battle of Ranake was a major battle in the Gallian Tribal wars and is believed to have been responsible for the downfall of the Qudi Kingdom. Three thousand Massai warriors, led by their chief Matchitisiw, faced up against almost three thousand Qudi warriors, commanded by a war chief named Sahkonteic who later anglicised his name to Carl Sakharine, following his conversion to Andyism and his comission in the Frankenlischian Army. Two hundred Frankenlischian colonists, commanded by a soldier named William Ligget, who later fought in the Twelve Years War where he was knighted for his actions, joined the battle in support of the Massai tribe. It is the intervention of these colonists bearing firearms that is commonly believed to be the turning point of the battle.

Little is known about the battle itself aside from the intervention of the Frankenlischian colonists from nearby Saint Gall Colony and the outcome, which was a decisive victory for Massai and the colonists. The battle was the first step in colonial dominance as the use of firearms is believed to have intimidated the tribes of Saint Gall.
