Bel, han auf Silfer, Silfersmide, krigets herre, hopeinen jumala, silfirgudir, slifirslada Bel, Silfersmida Bel, Hopein takoade Bel (eng. He of silver, the sliverforged, the lord of war, the silvery god, the silver god, Silverforged Bel, Silverforged Bel, Silverforged Bel) is the god of war in the holy chronicles and is one of the most important gods in all types of the chronological faith that is said to train the fallen warriors in his own hall in gyllenheim. He is also the father of several demi-gods that all represent different aspects of battle. He is also one of the oldest gods and was according to legend forged by a master-smith that were according to legend from the great culture that inhabited Brytna ryggen and were Vanquished by the Wharen before the first human migration southwards.

Birth

According to legend so were Bel forged from runesilver by the master-smith Ormir that had been taught the art by the old masters from Brytna ryggen that had the ability to give life to steel and Bel was given to Rasmer as a gift to help him in battle in payment for advice given to Ormir. Rasmer did however use his magic to give the silver warrior real life and took him in as a pupil. Bel however quickly grew in knowledge but also into a god of his own right as his power with the blade was unmatched by all mortals, demons and not even the dragons spawned by Drakoor proved to be a challenge for the god.

Bel in the sagas

Bel is one of the most important gods and often visits Midgard for various adventures, he was according to the legend first the owner and later on the mentor of Ingen and raised the hero in Gyllenheim. Bel is also known as the god that landed the final blow on Ark-irk and slew him after elderväsendet had fought several heroes like Belron, Imer and killed the gods Silmir and Halfir.

He is also the drotin of the armies of Gyllenheim and as such the commander of all the military forces of the gods.

There are a lot of conflicting descriptions of Bel as some mentions him as clean shaven in Western style and other legends speaks of a warrior with a beard reaching down to his waist. What however is common is that he is a lean warrior with fine almost womanly features, golden hair that shimmers in the sun, skin with the colour of silver and finally with red eyes that burns with the fury of hell when he is mad.

Bel is also one of the gods that is hardest to read and his behaviour changes from cold and calculating to blind berserker rage and he is also one of the harshest of the gods, often being very literal when it comes to enforcing laws and refusing any form of compromise which have often lead to several conflicts between him and Arkar the god of mischief. His symbol is often described as a flaming sword depicting the sword "Ildsklinga" that he wears that is described as a blade able to cut through anything and forged from pure fire that was granted to him by Arkar as payment for a crime committed against him where Arkar were forced to choose between being dragged out into the great hall of Gyllenheim and whipped or paying Bel a hefty sum of gold. To appease the harsh god did Arkar also trick a mighty fire spirit to see if he could turn hard and unchanging and from the hard fire did he have the blade forged.

Children

Bel have fathered several demigods over the years and amongst other did he father Belron the companion of Imer the great and the rosetouched worshipped by soldiers. But he also gave birth to Eralk the horselord that later on became the rosetouched in charge of mounted troops and quick marches but according to the holy chronicles was also the man that brought Horses to Scandera. He also fathered the girl Nådja on an elven princess that even today is worshipped as the rosetouched of mercy that is invoked to keep wounds at bay. But he has also fathered gods in his own right and with the wolf Alulf did he father Silmir and Hisrir, Mirlavar, and had a hand in the creation of Arie, Iera and Eira.

Most of his children were described as having glittering skin, blond hair and red eyes.

Worship of Bel

Bel is one of the most important gods in the chronological religion and most temples have a shrine to him and where statues are often painted in silver or as the Archtemple in the city of the burning rose forged in silver. He is often the second or third deity prayed to in ceremonies in all of the chronological sects. In cermonies dedicated to Bel alone so is blood sacrifices common where instead of ritualistic daggers so are regular weapons used to kill the beast sacrificed. The beasts are then hung from trees where they are left in the Gudsfaljare sect, While Drakens sener & Andedyrkare burns the beast sacrificed while followers of the jarntra throws the sacrificed animals into the ocean.
