The Belfrasian Home Guard, also commonly referred to as simply The Guard is a part of the reserve components of the Belfrasian Armed Forces and is composed of Guard units in each state of the Belfrasian Federation and are under the dual control of both their state governments and the federal government.

The Home Guard is comprised of three components; A Territorial Guard that makes up the land force, an Air Guard that operates the Guard's air and specialised anti-air assets, and finally the Coast Guard, which operates jointly within the Home Guard and the Federation Navy as needed.

Most of the Home Guard's soldiers and airmen hold a civilian full-time job whilst serving part-time as a guardsmen for his or her state's Guard, exceptions being personnel in the Coast Guard being full time and individuals in the higher level command structures of the Guard.

Organisation

The Home Guard are organised primarily into state-based organisational units titled by their host state. Territorial Guard units are not referred to as a 'territorial' guard, but simply as a guard, with the air guard having their full titles transferred into their unit name. An example would be the state of Kalamos; The Territorial Guard is called the 'Kalamos Guard' the air guard is called the 'Kalamos Air Guard'. The exception to this is the Coast Guard, which instead are organised into coast guard or Federation Naval bases and are referred to by their stations, much like their active duty counterpart.

All three components of the Home Guard are held to the same moral and physical standards as their active duty counterparts and utilise the same rank structure respectively.

Coast Guard

The Belfrasian Coast Guard operate jointly with the Home Guard and the Federation Navy, often operating within the Navy's naval stations and aviation assets from Air Force or civilian airbases. The Coast Guard is the only component of the Home Guard to operate as a full-time, active-duty organisation and operates as the country's maritime law enforcement, coastal defence, and search & rescue organisation.
