Brí Rige (Old Irish, meaning Hill of Kings) is an ancient royal seat located in northwest Maltropia, southwest of modern Muilendríg. It was the traditional coronation site of the kings of Uí Chairbre, who were crowned atop a cairn located on the hill's summit until 1148, when the site was attacked by Kinsalic forces and the royal tree burned. The coronation site subsequently moved to the fortress at Ardencross.
