CDI West Lusankya Command

Jump to navigation Jump to search

The CDI West Lusankya Command (CWLC) is the supreme military command of the Central Defense Initiative (CDI) military forces in western Lusankya. A significant amount of the formation's components are focused around Belfras's border with Rodarion, intended to deter potential Rodarian aggression. CDI member states contribute to maintain what is termed a "credible, permanently deployed presence" in Belfras, including stocks of vehicles, armaments, and ammunition pre-sited in depots in central and south eastern Belfras. In the event of a regional emergency, personnel may be ferried to these mobilization sites by air, reconstituting their formation in situ and being able to take part in combat operations immediately.

REFORBEL

The CCLC is set up according to the REFORBEL concept. The acronym stands for "Return of Forces to Belfras" - the movement of personnel from their respective countries to the Callis frontier to utilize equipment pre-sited for this purpose in central and south eastern Belfras. This rapid mobilisation ability is practiced on a biennial basis as "Exercise REFORBEL", alternating with the same exercise for Nijdeland. In the event of an actual crisis, this will be referred to as "Operation REFORBEL".

While some analysts have questioned the viability of this rapid reinforcement concept in the event of a surprise attack, CDI planners believe that, barring a total failure of intelligence, some warning of an invasion would always be manifest. In the worst case, REFORBEL will compel the Rodarians to launch an 'cold-start' attack with no or limited preparation efforts which would attract the attention of CDI intelligence, limiting the potency of the attack and allowing Belfras to stand its ground until reinforcements arrive.

Order of Battle

Commonwealth Army on the Trichonida (CAOT)

The CAOT is the main element of Arthurista's military presence in Belfras. It is based around the V Corps (Combined Arms). The corp's 5th Armoured Cavalry Brigade, 9th Heavy Division, 5th Helicopter Brigade and 5th Airmobile Brigade are permanently based in Nijdeland, forward deployed in Callis. In an emergency, personnel from the corps' other elements, including two heavy divisions and other supporting formations will be flown to Nijdeland and reconstituted using equipment pre-sited in six depots in south eastern and central Belfras. Upon its full deployment in Belfras, the V Corps's presence in Arthurista will be replaced by the mobilisation of three Territorial Reserves divisions, together forming the VI Corps, which will take over equipment left behind in Arthurista by the V corps.

The CAOT is supported by the Commonwealth Air Force's IX Fighter Wing, including three fighter squadrons (three squadrons of Tempest FGR.2), one electronic warfare squadron (Mercury ECR), one UCAV squadron (NOVA Drone) and one command and surveillance flight (E-3 Sentry, E-8 JSTAR, Arthuristan Dynamics Horus).

The CAOR's total peacetime ground forces strength is approximately 24,000 personnel in peacetime, rising to 80,000 within 12-24 hours of full activation.
