Cacao Island, formally known as the Commonwealth of the Cacao Island is an unincorporated state of Sibermia since 1953. The island was discovered in 1492 by Christopher Columbus and turned a province of the Kingdom of Castilla in 1730. Its name, Cacao Island, is due to the numerous cocoa plantantions islandwide. Its capital and largest city is Los Periquitos.

Climate

The climate in most of Cacao Island is classified as hot semi-arid, with warm to hot temperatures all year long and scarce monthly precipitation. In the north of the island as well as in the south there's an equatorial climate, with abounding rainfall and absence of a dry season.
