Cadwyg Cadarn was the last King of the Celti of Anglaland. Since the Celti relied on oral tradition to preserve their history, little is known about him other than that he was killed fighting the Saxones in the Battle of the Stones in 644AD.
He is believed to have been a powerful leader amongst the Celti, and he rallied close to a thousand spearmen to fight at the battle. In the decade after his death, the collapse of Celti power in Anglaland seems to have been complete, with Saxon settlers reaching the western coast of the island by 653AD.
