Canidiums

Canidiums, also known as Eastern Canidorians or Beszmorthirians are an indigenous sapient species that are native to the planet of Canidoria, and are in the same genus as the Canidorians, the Canidor genus. They are an officially recognized specie member of the Imperial Confederation. They make up 78.9% of the population of the Canidorian continent of Beszmorthiria, and 12.4% of the continent of Hothiria. They consist of 31.3% of the entire population of the planet of Canedalusia. Within the Imperial Confederation, they are considered to be the fourth most populous species, behind Barylians and after Stellans. The Canidiums are often referred to as Beszmorthirians by Caniderians, and before their official inclusion in the Imperial Confederation were interstellarly referred to as Eastern Canidorians.

The Canidiums before their inclusion into the Imperial Confederation has refined themselves into a democratic society. Unlike the Caniderian royalist monarchial society that was ruled under the Hothirian Empire, the Canidiums were ruled under the Beszmorthirian Republic. The Beszmorthirian Republic was a unified coalition of many different Canidium countries that existed. The Beszmorthirian Republic had a single language referred to as Standard Beszmorthirian, that was pioneered by the Tylisic Canidiums. Canidiums have over 50 different languages among them, many of which are not mutually intelligible. Standard Beszmorthirian still remains the official language of the Beszmorthirian Republic in their pariticpation of the Imperial Confederation.

The Canidiums under the State of Maragheny later initiated the War of the Lariszan Archipelago, which eventually evolved into the Great Canidorian Game. The Hothirian Empire had began a new colonization effort in Beszmorthiria in the Lariszan Archipelago, a series of islands that were under the jurisdiction of the Maragheny. Despite the presence of very few Canidiums on the island, the war set off a three millenia conflict.
