Capital punishment is a legal penalty in the Kingdom of Kárpátakia. It is enforced for a wide variety of crimes, and Kárpátakia is known as one of the most prolific users of the death penalty worldwide. Despite international criticism and calls to end the practice, capital punishment enjoys wide support in Kárpátakia. Executions are carried out by firing squd, hanging, or in rare cases, decapitation. Decapitation by axe is commanded for spiritual crimes as per the Arvisura.

Method

Kárpátakia has a hardline criminal justice system based mainly upon religious law.

It is usually carried out publicly via a four man firing squad in the town square. A public execution will typically commence after a substantial crowd has gathered to the execution grounds following an announcement of an execution as well as the crimes that warranted the execution through loudspeakers. The convicted person, unblindfolded, is walked into the square and is bound to a special pole used solely for execution. Following the preparations, the convicted can choose whether or not they are blindfolded. Each member of the firing squad is given live ammunition, and encouraged to aim for the solar plexus. A medical team present then confirms if the executed is deceased and pronounces them legally dead if so. Firing squad is the most used method as it is perceived as quick, relatively painless and efficient. Additionally, the executed convicts family are charged for any bullets fired and costs related to execution procedure.

In the case of hanging or decapitation, a mobile platform is brought to the city/town square with either gallows or a chopping block.

Public display of the body is sometimes ordered via judge if the crime was treason or related crimes such as espionage and sabotage, and also military crimes. When this is ordered, it is usually displayed in a cage suspended from a crane, and it is a criminal offence to throw objects at the deceased body.
