The Coral Kingdom of Caunette, officially the Royaume Corallien de Caunette (Arcadie) is a country located on the continent of Hiakemira in Esvanovia, bordering Marquesan and Salbert to the west. It is an absolute monarchy with seven prefectures, the federal capital district of Bayeux-Saturargues and one territory, Yvonne Island. The Razour Mountains split the country off from its former master state Marquesan. It has one of the smaller populations in Hiakemira, approaching 26.03 million people as of October 2034. Despite this, it maintains a robust GDP and economic focus, with the country sometimes referred to as a merchant republic under kingship and as a workable thalassocracy in all but name, utilizing ocean trade heavily.

Aboriginal peoples first appeared in Caunette around 2000 BCE, roughly the same period as the first Marquesans appeared beyond the Razour Mountains to the west. A trio of tribes would emerge from the early hunter-gatherer cultures that dominated the marshlands, with the Akana People settling in the north, the Hekekia People settling in the west, and the Keawe People settling along the coast. In time, the Akana would begin to subsume the Hekekia and the Keawe, leading to a unified cultural heritage and written language. The Akananesian Empire was declared in 870 BCE and would last for more than a thousand years. Arcadie merchants and traders began to arrive in the territory around 750 CE, bringing Arcadie culture and language to the Akananesians. By the turn of the 12th century CE, the Akananesian Empire had waned to the point that it became a client state of the Marquesan League, with the Akananesian king, the Ash King pledging fealty to the Marquesan High King. Arcadie influence overwhelmed and subsumed the native culture and language by the 15th century CE, with the nomenclature of the language merging ancient Akananesian linguistics with modern Arcadie to create the name of the Marquesan prefecture, Caunette. After five hundred years of fealty to the High King, the prefecture of Caunette was granted its independence from Marquesan, though it remained a crown commonwealth and a strong ally. A co-belligerent with the Marquesan League in the Great War, Caunette fared fairly well for itself and experienced a series of economic growth spurts that lifted the formerly-impoverished prefecture into prosperity. Caunette maintains a strong working relationship with Marquesan.

Caunette is an absolute monarchy with limited democratic rights vested in a libreral legislative body, the Konala. The King of Ash sits upon the Throne of Séverin in Bayeux-Saturargues, where he oversees the appointments to the Cour de Sévère. The unicameral legislature has no legal authority to usurp the will of the King, but rather brings petitions to the Cour de Sévère for the King's consideration. The pro-business government fosters a political culture promoting liberty, equality, individualism, personal autonomy, and limited government. Each prefecture has a high degree of autonomy.

One of the most economically developed countries in Esvanovia, Caunette is a middle-tier military power, with a heavy emphasis on establishing and maintaining a working relationship with Marquesan for its national security. It possesses one of the highest GDPs per capita and the largest disposable household income per capita in Hiakemira. Caunette ranks highly in economic competitiveness, productivity, innovation, human rights and higher education. Much of the country enjoys infrastructure and established by its time as a member prefecture of the Marquesan League to its west.
