Chorkina's (Velik: Чоркина, tr. Chorkina) is a major fast-food franchise founded in the Seredinian Federation in 1957 by Alisa Chorkina and her grandson, Mikhail Chorkin. It serves traditional Seredinian foods, such as kvass, shchi, pelmeni, and pirozhki. Chorkina's restaurants operate worldwide, though primarily they can be found across Seredinia and neighboring countries.

The chain operates over 600 locations, including a number of recently opened franchises in Pulau Keramat; these are the furthest geographically from the founding place of Belogorodka, Seredinia.

History

Alisa Chorkina, co-founder and original chef of Chorkina's.

Chorkina's began as a small operation run out of the house of Alisa Chorkina during the Second Triangle War, charging low prices for large portions during severe rationing. It was officially founded after the war, when Chorkina's grandson Mikhail Chorkin saw the potential for a quick, easy version of his grandmother's most well-liked recipes. It competed directly with chains such as Burger Dux in Seredinia before spreading elsewhere. It exists in multiple forms depending on the franchisee, with most franchises consisting of a sit-down restaurant experience or drive-thru.

The company has expanded operations across Belisaria and Scipia, also reaching other continents through the 1980s and 1990s. It opened a number of franchises in Pulau Keramat in 2012 to strong success, and has reportedly been a surprise hit with Seredinian diplomats and expats in the Pulaui city of Kopiona Poi.

Concept

Chorkina's was the first fast food chain in Seredinia to expand beyond the nation's borders and attempt to sell traditional Seredinian cuisine as a quick, healthy, alternative. Producing specialized home-style cooking based off the recipes of Alisa Chorkina, menus are often large, consisting primarily of various traditional Seredinian dishes. In some nations, such as Pulau Keramat, fusions with local cuisines have been attempted to certain acclaim from patrons.
